I'm going to talk about The Sheer Terror of PAM, the authentication and authorization framework for Linux and UNIX systems. By the end of this talk you should have a clear understanding of what PAM is, why it exists, why it sucks, and the horrors I encountered while writing a PAM module in Rust for work.
